We all know that there are certain brands that automatically bring respect. We are lucky enough to have a lot of them with us in our store. Purist has been able to bring together 5 of the the industries hottest and most admired names around to help us out on our 1 year anniversary. Each one of the brands has brought something special and different to our store, and each one has been one of the building blocks which form the foundation of Purist.

We kick things off with Futura Laboratories. As long as I’ve been on the internet I had always heard of the man’s work and various projects he’s worked on. I personally have been a huge fan not only of his artwork but as well as his handwriting. What else can be said about it? It’s instantly recognizable and art in itself. FL was one of those dream brands for me… and to make it harder, the lab happens to be located in Japan while the mad scientist lives in New York. After all is said and done, I’m glad to let you know that both Futura and Dice&Dice have both been supportive and gracious in helping us along.

Hey everyone, its been awhile...

ONE. Time has flown and I can't believe our 1 year anniversary is right around the corner. In that time we've seen our brands and product lines multiply like rabbits while still being able to focus on bringing you the best our culture has to offer.

The title of this blog was "On the edge." One the edge of what you ask? For our one year we have some really huge things planned. In store event, after party, and did someone say collabs? I WILL say this... I'll dub our drop the "Dream Team."

Being born and raised in San Jose I'm really proud to say I think this next month will put Purist and the South Bay on the map. And if you've got pride in your area too... come out and support. We like to make new friends.

You can find 'em everywhere these days so whats the big deal?

I've been waiting my whole life to say this... I have a store that
carries Nikes.

Yes, we've been blessed with a Nike account. Better yet, its not
just any Nike account. Nike has deemed us worthy of an account
that gives us access to high tier shoes not available anywhere else
in the South Bay as well as Quickstrike releases. I can now proudly
say that we are your one stop shop for hard to find Nike goods.

Now Purist wants to share this great news with our loyal customers
and everyone else who have been coming and looking at our shoe
wall saying, "You gonna get anything else?"

On April 11 8 pm we will begin our first Season Nike release with
hot shoes like the Lava Nike Air Max 95s and Air Tech Challenges.

We'll have a few Nikes for the ladies as well with some Rifts,
Blazers and an Air Force 1.

Finally, we'll be the only one in San Jose with the highly anticipated
Air Force 1 Safari! (Thank you HB for the pic)
































What else you ask? Come by and check out a huge display of OG
Nikes that belong to yours truly.

Need more? Okay, I'll throw in a live DJ and a beer for the 21 and
over.

Thats right San Jose, I'm proud to say we're only the second store in California to have an UNDFTD account.
Yes, the first was our friends over @ Huf. Excellent company to be in.

I'm really excited about it and I hope you are as well.

What up people out in web world, my name is Kevin or Kevco to friends and NTers. I've decided to follow my passion
and hop both feet into the world of streetwear. I'll save what I'm trying to accomplish and my philosophy on streetwear
for a different day. I know what you want to see because its what I want to see... and thats pictures.

Apologies for the 5 day delay (I know Bothan has been all up on this) but here they are fresh out of my digicam, the DICEXDICE 20th Anniversary Party hosted by Mr. Futura2000.

What is DICEXDICE?

OGs in the the streetwear game they were one of the first Stussy stores in Japan 20 years ago. Today they are home to Futura Labs and Maharishi as well as other super clean designers from the US, UK, and Japan.

The day started out with the line for exclusive goods from both Futura Labs...



As well as Stussy...



After the merchandise was sold out invited guests were treated to a private painting done by Futura on the walls of the FL store.









After the private painting came some custom Clarks

Lined up...



and hit up...




Post painting break...



with and also with Lady Purist...



Then it was back to work for Mr DosMil. Why did people line up? The lucky few were able to have the legend sign something.
